Fifa career mode: „Our decision: Your Dismissal“
If you are dismissed from your team in your Fifa coaching career, it usually has good reasons: The performances are not right, the promotion has failed, the team has been relegated or several, of the given goals, could not be achieved. Logically, a dismissal is the logical consequence.
Such a dismissal does not really come as a surprise, because: You can always see an indicator of your performance or the assessment of your work in the upper left area at Fifa. In the green area everything is fine – even in the gray area nothing will happen to you. However, if the displayed value falls into the red zone, especially below 50, you are threatened with dismissal as a coach. Below 40 tends to end your career and the team relieves you of your duties.
A coach dismissal does not come as a surprise – at least most of the time.
Generally, before you are finally fired, you will receive several notices via message, available in your office. You will be advised that a meeting has been scheduled regarding your performance. By the time you read this message, all alarm bells should be ringing. Another defeat or another unmet goal could cost you your job. However, there is still an opportunity to counteract here. If the performance is now right, victories are being achieved and targets are being met, the meeting will be in your favor. However, there is a kind of „bug“ at Fifa, through which you will be dismissed without notice from one day to the next – and virtually without good reason.
Decision: Your dismissal!
One or the other will have received this news before (with horror). You’re playing a solid season, you’ve promoted a few young players from the youth academy to the professional squad, and you’re already planning for promotion. But all those dreams are shattered within seconds: Overnight you are fired and can’t fight back. The only thing you can do in the future is to coach a new team, usually in some lower-class English league.
We went on a search and found out how the said instant dismissal comes about and with what little Fifa trick you can use in career mode to escape this dismissal.
This is why you get fired for no reason
If you coach a small team and gradually integrate youth players into the professional squad, you will initially have a rather balanced salary structure in the team. The „old hands“ tend to earn a thaler or two more a week, while the young players often start at 500 euros a week. No need to worry. But if you have scouted carefully and have youth players with a very high potential in your own ranks, they will develop very quickly after 1-2 seasons and overtake the established regular squad many times over.
So it can be that already at the end of the second season in the career mode you have a player in your team, who with about 75-80 GES overtakes even the best regular players including the captain. Logically, you want to give this player a new contract (and also more money), after all, you want to keep him in the team. Tip: Don’t do that!
The logic problem in Fifa salary negotiations
This is exactly where a small „logic problem“ arises in Fifa. The factually, playfully and arithmetically vastly superior youth player is not satisfied with €500 a week, but may already be demanding €3,500. You are of course prepared to pay this sum (or an even higher one), knowing full well that you have scouted the player thoroughly and meticulously and that you are aware of the potential of your young player. If you now offer the player such a contract, there are two possible scenarios:
- Immediately after the conclusion of the contract negotiations, you receive a message that the salary structure within your team is no longer coherent. The board asks you to correct this. With respect, if this message appears, you are lucky – then you can still intervene and avert the termination.
- The mail „Decision: Your dismissal“ opens automatically as soon as you switch to the next day. You have no more opportunity to save or intervene. With luck, you still have an old save state that you want to return to.
Prevent Fifa career mode dismissal: the solution.
You can counteract a potential dismissal in advance, unfortunately only with a very simple and moreover illogical trick. The initial situation was this, that you can’t offer your youth player an excessively high contract, because it will upset the salary structure of your team and this procedure will cost you your job.
Before you enter into contract negotiations with the player, please do the following:
- Clean up the transfer market
- Search for „free players“, all other attributes are irrelevant
- Get a free player to transfer to your team
- If he accepts, enter the contract negotiations
- Offer him an abstrusively high sum, 20,000 a week or more – depending on how high you want your youth player’s salary to be afterwards
- Conclude the contract
Fifa accepts that. You could give that player 800,000 euros a week – it doesn’t matter. Players who come to you via the transfer market, surprisingly, have nothing to do with the salary structure in the team. Now you can give your youth player a new contract, but you can’t exceed the amount of the free „salary player“.
The salary player must stay in the team
If you now tell those that everything worked out and you can release the free player again, we have to tell you: it won’t work! If you release the player, you will be released directly. De facto, in such constellations, there always has to be a free player from the transfer market, who, with the highest salary, makes sure that all other players can earn any amount, as long as it remains below the amount of this player.
Over time, of course, your youth players will get better and better, so as the seasons go on, several players will come closer to your transferred guy in terms of salary. So at some point, the salary player will have to be replaced by another player who will also get another huge salary. Unfortunately, you can only really release the player when the majority (almost all) players have a similar salary and there are no more great outliers up or down.
Fifa Career Mode: You will no longer be released!
Be sure now though: a potential dismissal is now off the table for now though. If you are still fired, it will likely be for other reasons, such as poor performance or goals that are not met. Contractually, however, with this little trick you can move completely freely and give your players the salary that you think corresponds to their performance. This makes the career mode fun again.
